The Quarry Bank Inn, has a rich history dating back to at least 1877, when it was noted as a beer house. The current main two-storey section bears an ornamental plaque with the date 1909, and the pub has been part of the Hydes Brewery estate since 1914. The first tenant under Hydes Brewery was James Walker, who began his tenure on 23 October 1914. The pub features a large bowling green that hosts numerous teams, along with pool and darts teams. However, specific records indicating the exact year the bowling team was established at the Quarry Bank Inn are not readily available. Given the pub's long-standing association with bowling, it's plausible that the bowling team has been active for many decades, possibly since the early 20th century.
