As a Club Safeguarding Officer, my primary duty is to ensure a safe and positive environment for all club members by promoting good practice, acting as a point of contact for concerns, and ensuring adherence to safeguarding policies and procedures.
Advise the club on safeguarding matters:
Provide guidance and support to the club committee and members on safeguarding policies, procedures, and best practices.
Promote and champion safeguarding policies:
Ensure that all club members are aware of and understand the club's safeguarding policies and procedures.
Act as a point of contact:
Be the first point of contact for staff, volunteers, members, children, and parents regarding any safeguarding concerns or issues.
Ensure staff and volunteers are aware of safeguarding concerns:
Help ensure that all staff and volunteers understand how to raise safeguarding concerns and what to do if they suspect something is wrong.
Responding to and Managing Concerns:
Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns:
Know how to respond to and manage safeguarding concerns in accordance with the club's policies and procedures and the National Governing Body (NGB) guidelines.
Report safeguarding concerns:
Know how and to whom to report safeguarding concerns, including the NGB and relevant authorities.
Support and signpost club members:
Provide support and signpost club members to appropriate resources and services if they have experienced or witnessed safeguarding concern
